Objective:
Create a sensory rich, California landscape demonstrative garden on the grounds of a highly frequented local business to showcase the use of natives, water-wise, edibles and sensory plants in the home landscape; the ecology of landscaping with natives and CA friendly plants, general care and maintenance of such a garden space and to use such space to hold ongoing demonstrative education in support of ecologically sound landscaping and the use of garden spaces as a restorative tool for human well-being.
Excerpt of OAM Congratulatory Letter -
...We believe there is no greater teacher than Nature herself. When we place ourselves in her presence, we are reminded of the role we have as stewards of Natures vast but oftentimes mismanaged resources . We are reminded that of the natural balance that exists in the universe and our place within it. Easily and effortlessly, our minds quiet, our thoughts vanish. Once again, we feel our own very pulse as we connect to the rhythm of life that surrounds us. For the moment, all is well, all is good.
For these simple yet profound reasons, RAF is passionate about creating demonstrative garden spaces within our community. We have seen the passion Olive Avenue Market has for creating positive change with our community as well. We believe that together, though the creation of sensory rich, California landscape garden on the grounds of OAM, we can inspire the eco-friendly changes that our community will embrace in ways that are pleasing, inviting and restorative to ourselves and the environment.
Congratulations once more on your Markets' selection . We look forward to the opportunities this project will present for both our organizations as well as for our local community.
